We Three Kings of Orient Are

We have been asked to sing for the ward Christmas party on December 13th. We will be doing 'We Three Kings of Orient Are', and will be keeping it fairly simple, utilizing the music from ' The LDS Christmas Songbook '. Below is the audio for the full score, as well as for each part. Full Score: Sopranos: Altos: Tenors: Basses:

Infant Holy, Infant Lowly

The second Christmas song we will be singing for the Sacrament Christmas program is 'Infant Holy, Infant Lowly'. This is a traditional Polish carol and is to the same tune as 'Stars Were Gleaming'. We will be doing a Hymnplicity arrangement of it, so it should be fairly easy to learn. Below is the audio for the full score and each of the parts: Full Score: Soprano: Alto: Tenor: Bass:

While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night

Christmas is coming!! I love Christmas songs and am so excited to start practicing our choir selections. We will be singing to pieces for the Christmas Sacrament program and one at our Ward Christmas Party. The first one we'll start working on is " While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night ". Below is the audio for the full score, along with all of the parts (including the flute part): Full Score: Flute: Soprano: Alto: Tenor: Bass:

Each Life That Touches Ours For Good

For October, we'll be singing a duet of Each Life That Touches Ours For Good . We'll sing this as a two-part choir. Sopranos and Tenors will sing the top part and Altos and Bass the lower part. I've modified the third verse slightly, switching the high notes that the altos/basses have with the lower notes that the sopranos/tenors have to bring it more into our range of voices. We will be performing it on October 27th. Below the audio for the parts and the full score: Full Score: Sopranos and Tenors: Altos and Basses:

Guide Me to Thee/Lean on My Ample Arm

For September, I want to keep it pretty simple, as people come back from taking the summer off. So, we will be doing a medley of Guide Me to Thee and Lean on My Ample Arm . If you are unfamiliar with these hymns, I encourage you to click on the links to each hymn above and listen to them. They both have beautiful messages. But what I really love, is that they are in the same meter...meaning you can sing one to the tune of the other. And Lean on My Ample Arm is the answer to the prayer that is voiced in Guide Me to Thee. These hymns were meant to go together! We will be using the tune of Guide Me to Thee and will sing the 1st verse of Guide Me to Thee, then the 1st verse of Lean on My Ample Arm, followed by the 3rd verse of Guide Me to Thee and ending with the 2nd verse of Lean on My Ample Arm. The accompaniment will be Guide Me to Thee, as written in the hymn book. Below are the audio parts and full score for practice: Full Score: Sopranos: Altos: Tenors: Basse

Master the Tempest is Raging

I love this arrangement and would like to be able to do it at some point...no date is set to perform it, because it's a harder arrangement. We'll take our time learning it, then when we fill it's ready, we'll get it on the calendar and perform it. Below is a performance of the song, so you can get a feel for how it sounds: Here are the parts separately: Sopranos: Altos: Tenors: Basses: All Parts (no accompaniment): Full Score:

Summer Songs

Life tends to be busy during the summer, so to help make it a little less stressful. We'll be doing spontaneous choir pieces for the months of June, July, and August. We will still have choir practices, and begin work on fall pieces, but not have the stress of harder songs to perform over the summer months. The schedule is outlined in the flyer below. You are welcome to practice on your own or at choir practice, all of the songs can be found at churchofjesuschrist.org , direct links to each song are below: Families Can Be Together Forever I Love to See the Temple Love is Spoken Here   Please spread the word that all are invited and welcome to join the choir in singing these pieces.
